Week 10 Review

  • 165.4 lbs (down 2.6 from last week)
  • 31.7% fat (down 9% from last week)
  • 49.9% water (always varies)
  • 32.8% muscle (up .4% from last week)
Successful weigh-in, :) Glad to see my hard work paid off this week. Today I start my 7DSD and I'm hoping that kick-starts my weight loss even more since I've been stuck in the mid 160's for a month now.

We saw Jurassic Park in IMAX 3D yesterday and tried out a brewery neither of us had ever been to. It was a really good day but I splurged a tad. I ate well and kept my portions in check but I had 2 too many drinks which makes this the perfect time to start my 7DSD.

Obviously I'm bloated today and dehydrated. lol. Cant wait for my pictures next week!

Balancing Act

Hesitant to post because I'm having issues with all the pictures on my blog. New ones won't upload and old ones have disappeared. It's really frustrating because I put a lot of time into tracking my progress.

So for workouts this week I've got my ab routine every morning before work w/a little cardio to get my heart rate going, cardio routine after work, and arm toning routine at night.

Also trying to stay mindful when I'm just relaxing. Not all the time but at least half of the time. Instead of just watching TV, I try balancing on the stability ball on my knees (great for inner thighs!) or I'll do some resistance band work or stretching.

Trim & Tone Tuesday

I have been trying to do a quick workout every morning right when I wake up. When it's warm I'd really like to see myself running (except on work days because I work at 4am). But for days that I do work, I'd still like to get up a smidge earlier and do a quick workout. TIU calls it "Morning Bootycalls." For the next couple days I have off work and will be able to try and make it habit. Hoping that if I do it 3 days straight, I'll want to do it more going forward.

Here are some links to morning bootycalls!

  15. TIU Bikini Beach Bum Workout
And here are my thigh progress pics. I have to say I hardly did the DVD that I was supposed to. I like how my inner thighs are shaping up but I don't like the shrinking of my bum. Just gotta keep toning!

Yesterday I did my 45 minute cardio session (35 minutes cycling varying levels 8-12 & 10 minutes treadmill, 3.5mph, 4% incline). Today  I'm doing the Summer Slim Workout for my bootycall,  plus 30 minutes cardio (probably cycling again.) I really like how I feel after the cycling and I remember last time that I made cycling my cardio of choice, my stomach toned up... I guess because as you cycle you're kind of also doing little crunches. Also doing the "Sweet 16" for the Drop 10 Challenge. I was going to start last week, but I had trouble finding the calendar on their website. Didn't locate it until the weekend.

Drop 10

For fit Friday I wanted to post about a challenge I've accepted from Self magazine and TIU's Karena and Katrina. Drop 10! It's a challenge to drop 10 pounds the healthy way in 5 weeks. I made a couple info graphics to show more about the challenge.. This is all quotes from the magazine:

Do 2 fat blasting HIIT sessions per week. Add one moderate-intensity 45 min. cardio session.

Do 3 sets of 12 firmers/sculptors (toners)3 days a week. Space em out, don't do 2 in a row.

Firmers: The magazine I have on my Nook says the firmers are: Conch Shell, "Oh Hey", Split and Reach, Bottoms Up, Get Tipsy, Kick It Off but the website lists these so, I guess I'll do these!

Soo, 3 firmers, 2 HIIT, 1 45 minute cardio wild card.

As far as food goes, they suggest to start with 1600 calories. 350 for breakfast, 450 for lunch and dinner and 150 for a snack. Each Drop 10 dish has foods to target belly flab (eggs, yogurt), quelling hunger (apples, olive oil), or revving a sluggish metabolism (steaks, lentils).  In addition to the core meal plan, you get 200 extra calories a day to spend on whatever you want. Happy calories. You can bank up to 4 days worth, 800 calories total, for something special.

I will stick to this for the most part but I don't plan on aiming for 1600 calories. I may not be AS strict about not exceeding 1200 though because it doesn't seem to be working anyway and I find myself getting the munchies very, very often. (especially before bed!) So I'll aim for something in between 1200-1600 each day and then I'll burn some off with exercise. We'll see!
