Sexy Saturday

Date night at Macaroni Grill:
Yesterday we went to Six Flags. That was fun except a few rides got to me. I hadn't been on a roller coaster since I was like 10, and even then I only went on the not-too-scary ones. We started out on The Viper and The Demon, then checked out The Dark Knight. After that, having NO IDEA what I was getting into, I went on The Superman... that one got to me. Not a fan. Just saying. After that we went on The Batman, which apparently was running backwards. For the start it sounded like a bad idea on paper to me, but my bf was totally stoked for it. I noticed nobody was smiling at the end of it, but didn't want to chicken out so we went. Halfway through the ride I was just trying to hold down my nausea. When we got off, my boyfriend could barely stand, his face was totally flushed of color and he was sweating really bad. He had to grab me for support. He held it together for one round on The Eagle, but we were spent. It took a LONG nights sleep to shake off that nausea.

This morning I ran 4 miles (45 minutes), 425 calories.

This afternoon I'm going to my cousins daughters 1st bday party with my mom and my sister and tonight is planning to be a low-key night of just book editing, coffee, and a 3rd protein drink today. For M2 I had a coffee-banana-choc-pumpkin pie spice-PFP shake and for M3 I had a mango-banana-ginger pfp smoothie.

Ended at 114 g protein.
27 miles/100

Calorie Uppage Assessment - down .2 lbs

How is the 1700 calorie adjustment working out?
Well, to my surprise I'm not gaining weight. I've drank almost every day and I haven't worked out in a long time. Last night I had a huge pasta dish from Macaroni grill plus a lot of drinks. And, sadly I will admit that the past couple days, thanks to the drinks Ive had, I've probably been closer to 2300 calories (which is my BMR), meaning I'm eating to maintain, not lose. So my results are exactly as expected, sadly. lol.

  • 158 lbs
  • 30.3% fat
  • 50.8% water
  • 33.6% muscle

HOLY YAY! New TIU addition to the nutrition plan! Gosh, K&K are so spot on with what the community asks for and they deliver so quickly! Their commitment to us is so awesome!

  • W/O update: Today I did 30 minutes jogging/walking and burned 250 calories. 2 miles #100bysummer. 23/100 so far.
  • Protein update: I'm at 118g protein (overate at lunch while catching up on Season 2 of Girls.)

Walk around all day, look at sweet precious animals and soak in some sun. Hopefully that will cheer me up and I don't have to think about these results all day.

Six mile Saturday! :)

I woke up at 630, made some coffee, and headed to the forest preserve. I added a 5lb weight to each arm because I want to blast that fat away and I figured it cant hurt, though I've never heard anywhere that adding weights will help burn more fat.. but it sounds like it should, right? Ha. I HOPE SO cause that was exhausting! I managed to jog the majority of the entire first 4 miles, with the exception of a quarter mile walking break between miles 3 and 4. Then for miles 4 I probably jogged half and walked half and I ended up walking most of the 5th mile because I had a leg cramp. :) First time that's ever happened! My glutes were freaking burning at mile 4! When I got home I wanted to snap before/after pictures for tomorrow but my gut was HUGE. I don't know what's going on but its beyond pissing me off at this point. I work hard and eat right, yet my stomach cant keep up? Maybe it's in a sort of shock mode..like adjusting to the extreme cardio? God I hope it catches up soon.

So today me and my boyfriend are headed to a local brewery to watch the Blackhawks and then we are going to see The Great Gatsby :) I burned 891 calories, and I'm sure I'll drink all of that away... I suck. Haha. A friend of mine, fellow blogger, suggested I do another round of the Ultimate Body applicator since my results last time were so impressive and I concurred! I ordered another one today so look forward to that post probably in two weeks!

Have a great weekend everyone! Challenge yourself to feeling sore on Monday! :)

Fluctuations

My weight is down to 161 today. I need to not weigh myself till Wednesday now. The detox lost me 2 lbs, but I ended the detox at like 4pm yesterday. Um, I think I'll do a 7DSD starting Saturday or Sunday. This is just getting ridiculous because I cant figure out where that weight came from. I did not eat 10,500 extra calories to gain 3 lbs!!!!! But that aside, I'm just trying to stick to my workouts and clean eating. Last night I did have 1 margarita and popcorn to watch the season finale of Greys Anatomy. Today I'm hoping to get lunch with a good friend and possibly go for a walk if the weather permits it.

Tonight, instead of indulging I really want to take a walk or catch up on my TIU toning routines. I'm a little behind this week but only by a couple so I should easily be able to make them up. It'll be okay. This week, and pretty much since I started dieting, my mantra has been "It's a lifestyle, not a race!" and I just have to keep remind myself of that.

*Update

So I went for a little walk with my sister this afternoon then I went for a 40 min. cardio jog/walk afterwards. :) Nearing the end of my jog, I was pushing really hard to keep jogging, watching my feet hit the pavement and singing "Just around the river bed" in my head as I rounded a bunch of trees and a lake. For some reason that line always comes in my head when I'm jogging in the forest preserve. lol. Anyway, so I look up and stop in shock.... there is a deer standing 10-15 feet in front of me, at a dead stop! He looked just as shocked to see me! Ha. And he was stopped dead center of the pathway. Of course this is the very first time I did not bring a camera with me... I figured everyone was sick of seeing my workout pics in the park. Of course this time I would have had something to shoot! Ugh, I could kick myself. But I had a really great moment with nature and with this deer. I motioned at it to move as if it would understand what the motions meant. It jumped over a few feet, I saw it's poofy white tale. Then I started walking past and it took a few more feet into the trees. I watched it and it watched me. It was a really cool moment, seriously!

After I got home from my jog, I checked my weight for the last time until Wed... and I am back down to 159. My sister had speculated that this fluctuation is due to me ovulating and I can assume she's right, being that I am ovulating right now according to my period tracker app.  lol

Thirsty Thursday!!

I got a new juicer for my Bday so you can expect to see me enjoying that for awhile!

Did 7.25 miles today. So I'm at 28.31 miles so far.

Up 3.2 lbs

I don't want to weigh in today. :( I cheated again last night and had 4 beers with my boyfriend. We were going to the Cubs game and I was not going to drink but then the plans fell through and we had a little Cubs night of our own. We watched Silverlinings Playbook, HIMYM, then the Cubs game. It was a good night, but I really REALLY wish I held off on drinking.

This coming Sunday we are headed to Brookfield Zoo for his sisters Bday and I cant wait because that means I'll be walking around ALL DAY! Burning those calories. Ugh. I gotta not beat myself up about drinking. I still ate well and I still did my workouts, it just feels like all my hardwork is for nothing when I cheat. On the other hand, I just have to think about where I'd be if I cheated and didn't work hard... Although I still think I've gained a whole lot.

I might weigh in tonight, or I might hold off until Sunday. I don't want to get too discouraged by the scale.

**UPDATE

Okay I decided I owe it to my records to weigh in. Even though I hate the results, it'll be proof that I went through hell trying to get my weight under control. hah ugh. :/ Also, this makes zero sense...

  • 163.0 lbs (up 3.2 lbs from last week)
  • 31.1% fat (up .6%)
  • 50.4% water
  • 33.1% muscle  (down .3%)
The last time I was at 163 was April 17th.   My fat is 1% lower now, and my muscle is the exact same..? And water weight is 1.2% higher right now. WHAT IS THIS WEIGHT!

I just read some really interesting stuff, here. "If the body is not properly warmed up and cooled down, it can begin to produce lactic acid once the muscles become fatigued. This is then stored within the muscles. Lactic acid is what causes muscle soreness. It is also a sure sign that the body will begin cushioning the fatigued muscles by storing water in the areas that have been over-worked. The additional water helps to cushion and protect the affected muscle tissues until the body has made any necessary repairs and processed the lactic acid that has been stored" WHO KNEW?

Walked 4 miles today at work. I'm unmotivated. So I'm at 21.06 miles so far.

Overnights & Cubs Game

Well I was going to attend a Cubs game tonight but the plans fell through. I'll try to just think of it that it was for the best... no temptation to drink! I cheated hardcore on Friday for my birthday. Plus it took me all weekend to recover from that drinking night so really that drinking night turned into a weekend derailment which unfortunately was followed by an overnight shift (thankfully reduced to only 1, instead of 2) which always derail me.

Today it's hot out (yay) but it's also humid (boo!). I tried to go jogging for 30 minutes but I ended up walking for 40 minutes. I couldn't seem to catch my breath but at least I tried to get it in!

I did 4 miles at work, too, so total today I was at 7.30 miles. I'm already at 17.06 miles for the goal of 100 by summer! Woot!

Tonight I might have a couple beers with my boyfriend. We were pretty excited to go to a Cubs game but since it didn't work out I bought him a sixer of one of our fav. summer beers. If he's in a good mood and we are getting along, I might possibly indulge in two beers with him. But, if like most days, he's cranky then I'll just skip on the booze and try to go on another jog later when it cools down. :)

Appreciation

Well the 30DS kind of fell to the side, especially when the bikini series started. I honestly saw tremendously better results in the first week of the bikini series than any results I was seeing with the 30DS. I will probably do another 30DS (and complete it) in August or September when I'm closer to my goal weight and trying to crush those last few pounds. :)

Today is my reflection day and the Tone It Up trainers challenged us today to stop and take a minute to be thankful. I love how they stress the importance of being thankful - it's such an awesome reminder and it's always uplifting to remember why we should be happy instead of focusing on the negatives like it's so easy for us to do.

  1. My boyfriend for trying to adjust to my new healthy lifestyle
  2. My friends and family for encouraging my weight loss
  3. The TIU community for their inspiration and encouragement
  4. My car for still working
  5. The ability to change my lifestyle. (Gym membership, juicer, internet, my health)
Last week I missed the "Grab a Friend" workout for Saturday and the 45 minute walk for Sunday. I just made up the 45 minute walk for Sunday (plus did the 45 minute cardio jogging for Monday).  Also working on the #100bysummer challenge and personal challenge not to drink at all during the Cubs game tomorrow. :) Today I did 9.76 miles!
