Thirsty Thursdays

A few years ago when I hit 21, I became obsessed with "Thirsty Thursdays." $3-You-Call-It's and DJ's. I'm sure the bar tenders sat back, laughing and saying, "We-Call-It-3lbs and sleep deprivation." :)  But it actually took a lot for me to transition out of drinking every Thursday night. I was so used to the drinking habits and social fun of it, that I got kind of depressed when it came time to stop. I remember sitting on the couch, with nothing interesting on (or should I say nothing as interesting as 15 drunk friends) and not knowing what to do with myself so I'd go to the kitchen and scour the cabinets. Eventually I guess that became my new habit.

So now, I would like to get myself back in with Thirsty Thursdays. Not alcohol though. Smoothies!
I googled my favorite smoothie recipe and it turns out it can make a pretty great after workout drink. I also found some recipes that said to add blueberry-Greek-yogurt, pineapple juice, blueberries, and pineapple chunks.  So yummy!  When I made it, I used 1/4 cup skim milk, 1/4 cup fresh blueberries, 6 oz pineapple juice, 1 whole banana, and a few ice cubes and it was 262 calories.  I really want to purchase Tone It Up's Perfect Fit Protein and add that to my smoothie.

The other ways I've been eating healthy is I try really hard to get a lot of fruits and veggies and to meet my protein "plate report" on Loseit.com. The past few days this has been a typical meal for me. It's 1 egg, 3 egg whites, green peppers and red onion, red pepper flakes, Tabasco sauce, celery, an apple, blueberries, and whole wheat toast. It is REALLYTombstone Veggie Light Pizza to myself because I'm bored, that's saying something.  Half the time I skip the apple. I try to always eat the celery and blueberries first because blueberries aid in a flatter stomach and celery is a negative calorie food. I'm on the fence about cutting out the bread but I know grains are still needed in our diet so I'm leaving it in for now.

And since it is valentines day, here is my only advise! Skip on the chocolate, and get intimate with your valentine because sexual activity counts as exercise! :) Hell, maybe tomorrow you'll even be sore, and not sorry! Happy Valentines!
