So for my Trim Tuesdays I figured I would post on how I am getting trim and tone. Though this is not happening as fast as I'd hoped, I still need to plan for when the weight starts coming off so I don't end up being "fat skinny," as I've heard it referred to. For now at the gym I focus primarily on cardio because I'm more concerned about the weight coming off. And now that I know I have to work up to burning 1000 calories a day at the gym to even lose 2 lbs per week, I'm feeling a little frazzled. But I know (I hear it and read it all the time) that strength training and muscle building aids weight loss because the muscles burns "at least 4 times as many calories as fat does." Sooo, in the mean time, until I get to my body-focus-months (as laid out in yesterdays post) I will add additional toning workouts to my usual Tuesday Cardio workouts.
This actually works out for another reason. This semester I had to drop a class from school because it was clashing with my work schedule and the bottom line came to be that my GPA would suffer if I stayed in the course. I've never withdrawn from a class before (I have 3 classes left until I reach my associates) and I honestly feel guilty for doing it. The class met every Tuesday and Thursday 545-725 and I vowed to myself I would use that time to workout and get in shape because it's time I didn't plan on having and I might as well use it to still benefit me.(Little did I know I'd end up spending that much time at the gym everyday!)
So I will add this resistance band workout to my Tuesdays and Thursdays! Instead of learning French, I'll just get a sexy back crack. :) . And maybe tone a few other areas while I got the dang thing out.
